About Be Well and About Natalie
Where does Be Well come from?
Not long after I started personal training in 2006, I created a fitness blog and ended each post with the sign off, Be Well. That's because I believe fitness is wholly about wellness. I don't believe in fad diets or workouts. The kind of work we do together is about lasting health and fitness, not about a quick fix that will ultimately leave you exhausted, hungry, and yearning to fall back into old habits and right back to where you started. We will focus on the right kind of fitness for your body that will make you feel your best. We will work on fixing your body's muscle imbalances which will ultimately help you to move better in your daily life. It's about making a plan for your life, not for short periods of time in your life.
I think a huge part of confidence comes from feeling strong and capable in your body. When you focus on the right kind of fitness, it can completely change your life. Whether that means being able to power through your day at work, keep up with the demands of parenthood, and/or feel the accomplishment of finishing an endurance race for the first time, being able to count on your body to carry you through is the first piece of confidence.
I'm ready to meet you where you are and make you feel good about working together. I will push you but I won't push you farther than what you're ready for. We might start with a crawl but we will end with a sprint, whatever that means for you!
Intuitive Eating and HAES
I believe in Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size. I completed an Intuitive Eating PRO course with co-creator of Intuitive Eating, Evelyn Tribole in order to be able to bring its framework into my practice and help to dismantle diet culture. What is Intuitive Eating? It is defined as "a self-care eating framework which integrates instinct, emotion, and rational thought and it was created by two dietitians Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch in 1995. Intuitive eating is a weight inclusive, evidence based model with a validated assessment scale and over 100 studies to date...The process of Intuitive Eating is a practice, which honors both physical and mental health. Intuitive Eating is aligned with Health at Every Size, because the pursuit of intentional weight loss is a failed paradigm, which creates health problems: including weight stigma, weight cycling, and eating disorders. All bodies deserve dignity and respect." (www.intuitiveeating.org)

Testimonials
"I started working with Natalie and she totally transformed my body; I became leaner, stronger and my endurance dramatically improved (thank God because I lived in a 6-floor walk-up). Natalie listened to my goals and helped me reach them by being tough yet supportive. She has a wealth of knowledge about fitness and is always introducing new techniques so I never get bored. She is a skilled professional, is dependable and has a heart of gold. Look no further, you have found your trainer!"

"After 2 babies in 2 years, I didn’t think it was possible to get back into shape. But Natalie has completely transformed my body. I have definition I never had before, and have increased my strength and stamina tremendously. She changes up the workouts to keep it interesting and keep you challenged. Natalie is an incredible trainer as well as a friend. "
- Leah Karp
“Natalie is hands down the single best trainer that I have worked with. She has all the attributes that you could want in a trainer – she is highly professional; she constantly surprises me with the depth of her fitness knowledge; the workouts are never the same, so the sessions never get repetitive or boring; she works me hard, which I appreciate since I don’t have a lot of time to exercise; and she’s got a fun, easy-going nature which makes the overall experience really enjoyable. I would strongly recommend Natalie to anyone who is serious about getting fit and wants to have fun doing it.”
-Josh Scherer
"Natalie helped me stay on an exercise regimen that enabled me to shed some weight, tone my body and boost energy. After each session with her, I always feel great about my body and myself. She is the best and I highly recommend her. "
-Alvina Chiu
"I bought a package with Natalie thinking it would motivate me to start working out again. I saw such good results from our initial sessions, that I continued working with her for several more months. She listens to what your goals are and designs a program to meet them. And she knows not only how to create an effective program, but how to keep it interesting and fun."
