About Be Well and About Natalie

 

Where does Be Well come from?

Not long after I started personal training in 2006, I created a fitness blog (back before Instagram, Vine, and shorter attention spans) and ended each post with the sign off, Be Well. That's because I believe fitness is wholly about wellness. I don't believe in fad diets or workouts. The kind of work we do together is about lasting health and fitness, not about a quick fix that will ultimately leave you exhausted, hungry, and yearning to fall back into old habits and right back to where you started. That doesn't mean that we won't focus on workouts that will get you in the best shape of your life, but it does mean that we will focus on the right kind of fitness for your body that will make you feel your best. We will work on fixing your body's muscle imbalances while also toning and burning fat. We will focus on getting you ready for that endurance race you signed up for or your dream wedding. But then after those things are accomplished, we will continue to form a plan for you so those old habits that weren't working for you don't resurface. It's about making a plan for your life, not for short periods of time in your life. 

I think a huge part of confidence comes from feeling strong and capable in your body. When you focus on the right kind of fitness, it can completely change your life. Whether that means being able to power through your day at work, keep up with the demands of parenthood, and/or feel the accomplishment of finishing an endurance race for the first time, being able to count on your body to carry you through is the first piece of confidence. 

 

I'm ready to meet you where you are and make you feel good about working together. I will push you but I won't push you too much farther than what you're ready for. We might start with a crawl but we will end with a sprint, whatever that means for you!

 

 

Natalie McClure

Natalie has been a NASM Certified Personal Trainer since 2006 and specializes in In-Home and virtual training. Natalie lived in New York City for 9 years, training in the smallest studio apartments to leading her boot camps in expansive Central Park. Today she lives in Portland, OR where you can meet with her in your living room--either in person or on your computer screen. She also teaches corporate fitness classes and offers small group training. 

 

Natalie has been featured as a fitness specialist in Women's Health (she was featured on 4 separate occasions), Men's Fitness, and Allure magazines, and as a guest co-host on the fitness podcast,

The Bodcast. In addition, she is a Fitness Nutrition Specialist, CPR Certified by the American Red Cross and a graduate of Western Michigan University.

 

Natalie became a mother in 2016 to a baby boy named Declan. She has had a specialization in Pre and Postnatal training since 2008, but after living through the experience personally, she now brings a unique perspective to working with mothers and soon-to-be mothers. Natalie loves helping women through the body and life altering changes motherhood brings.
